There is no straightforward answer to this question. Each tank matures differently. Using AF Bio Sand can expedite the completion of the nitrogen cycle, but for safety, we recommend introducing life after a minimum of 14-30 days. 3 days is definitely too early. For a new tank, we also recommend using the Life Bio Filtration Medium, which contains selected bacterial strains that also contribute to a more efficient closure of the nitrogen cycle.
