What sand should you choose for a nano saltwater aquarium? #

Live sand or dry sand for a saltwater aquarium? #

Both dry sand and live sand can be used in a saltwater aquarium.

• Dry sand does not initially contain active biological life, but as the aquarium matures, it gradually becomes colonised by bacteria present in the system.

However, using biologically active substrate does not mean that a newly established system is immediately mature.
